Since the first laparoscopic liver resection reported by Gagner et al. in 1993, minimally invasive liver surgery is growing unabated. Nowadays, indications for laparoscopic approach in liver surgery are unlimited compared to a few years ago. From Louisville to Morioka the worldwide experience is improving.
The aim of this special issue, guest edited by Dr. Giovanni Battista Levi Sandri, is to discuss all aspects of liver surgery with the laparoscopic approach. From the surgical indication to technical skills, we will treat the most frequent indications (HCC, colorectal metastases) to uncommon indications (cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder cancer, non colorectal metastases and trauma), technical difficulty with the posterior segment and major hepatectomy. Nonetheless, the transplant field with living donor (left lateral or right liver) will complete this issue.Preface
