Interviews with Outstanding Authors (2025)

In 2025, many ALES authors make outstanding contributions to our journal. Their articles published with us have received very well feedback in the field and stimulate a lot of discussions and new insights among the peers.

Hereby, we would like to highlight some of our outstanding authors who have been making immense efforts in their research fields, with a brief interview of their unique perspective and insightful view as authors.

In each feature, we dive into the inspiration, challenges, and discoveries that have captured the attention of our readers. Through these interviews, we aim to provide our readers with deeper insights into the work that is shaping the future of medicine and healthcare.

ALES Annual Report (2024)

Till December 31, 2024, ALES has a total of 54 Editorial Board Members from 15 countries. 42 articles have been published last year, with 50% Review Article, 26% Case Report, 12% Original Article, 7% Editorial, 3% Editorial Commentary and 2% Letter to the Editor. Corresponding authors came from 14 countries, with mostly from USA. According to the Google Analytics, ALES drew the attention of 222,956 visitors with 395,393 pageviews. Readership was from diverse countries, with majority from USA, followed by India, UK, Australia and Canada. For a comprehensive overview, please refer to the detailed report below.

Interviews with Editorial Board Members

ALES features a distinguished editorial board, the members of which continue to instill the power of their expertise for the journal’s development. By launching this column, we are glad to introduce to you some of them in the form of interviews, in which they will share their unique career experiences and perspectives. We are pleased to announce that Annals of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery (ALES) has attained its latest impact factor for the 2023 citation year: 0.5.

We are pleased to announce that the Annals of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery (ALES) has received its 2023 CiteScore: 1.4, ranking 307 out of 551 journals in the Surgery category.

Furthermore, we are delighted to highlight the remarkable achievements made by all AME journals in the CiteScore ranking.
